Welcome to the most chaotic writers' room on the internet! This week, Savage pitches Rock to the Future—a time-travel comedy meets stoner rock odyssey that’s equal parts Back to the Future, Bill & Ted, and a fever dream after too many brownies. It’s 1978, and a teenage slacker gets shoved into a time capsule locker, only to emerge in 2008 to chase his rockstar dreams. Will he shred with his idols or get wedgied into oblivion? Let’s find out—sort of!

0:00 – Intro: Meet the Table

The gang kicks off with music, applause, and an unhealthy obsession with their new studio table. "It ties the whole thing together!"

Savage blindsides Spaceman and Zeebz with Rock to the Future. No prep, all chaos—perfect for our writers’ room vibe.

0:56 – The Pitch: Rock to the Future Unveiled

Meet Robbie St. Van, a 1978 slacker with long hair, sideburns, and a garage-sale 1959 Gibson Les Paul. He’s obsessed with rock gods like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and the heaviest band ever—Feather!

3:05 – 1978 – The Setup

Daltrey High School, 1978. It’s the 30th anniversary, and the time capsule locker is the star—until Robbie gets locked inside.

Whimsy alert: The locker’s magic mutes his screams. He’s got his guitar, his dreams, and a bully named Seth Armstrong with atomic wedgie skills.

Teaser: Will Robbie woo Janice Chambers or get his Les Paul smashed?

9:22 – Feather’s Stage Disaster

Robbie fantasizes about seeing Feather live, only for guitarist Davey Bones to crash through the stage and die.

The crowd crowd-surfs his corpse while Robbie shreds a solo. Too bad it’s all in his stoned head.

13:43 – The Bully Beatdown & Time Jump

Seth the Jock delivers punches, insults, and a locker stuffing. Robbie’s guitar snaps—ouch!

Cut to 2008: The locker opens, and Robbie stumbles into a gritty Daltrey High.

From 1978 stoner to 2008 outcast—can Robbie survive the future?

19:49 – 2008 – A New Era, A New Wedgie

Robbie’s a relic in skinny jeans land. Enter Chuckle Bunny, a vending-machine-robbing wook who loves Feather too!

New rival: 3rsty, a dubstep DJ with MySpace clout and wet beats.

25:07 – Band Recruitment: The Oddball Montage

Robbie and Chuckle Bunny form a band to open for Feather’s “One Last Hurrah” tour.

Clara, a goth drum goddess, steals the show. Could she be… someone’s daughter?
43:05 – Juggalo Detour: ICP Chaos

Robbie crashes an Insane Clown Posse show (thinking it’s Kiss), wakes up with Faygo stains and a hatchet man tattoo. Whimsy overload!

50:41 – The Band Unites: Peter Returns

Surprise! Clara’s dad is Peter, Robbie’s 1978 bestie, now 48 with a basement jam space. Reunion hugs and Feather tunes follow.

Chuckle Bunny’s out, Peter’s in—band practice gets tight, and the Les Paul gets reforged!

56:48 – Battle of the Bands Showdown

Time Capsule rocks the stage with originals and Feather covers. Robbie’s unstoppable—until 3rsty's dubstep steals the crowd.

1:03:10 – The Ending Debate: Where Does Robbie Go?

Does Robbie meet a washed-up Feather and cry? Jump back to 1978 to shred with them pre-suck? Or stay in 2008 as a nostalgia rockstar?

1:11:56 – Wrap-Up: Socials & Sign-Off

0:15

hello and welcome to we won't finish this podcast it's a writers room podcast where we pitch movies to each other that

0:20

we'll never make Spaceman I'm zebs I'm Savage and these guys have no idea what

0:27

uh type of movie I'm presenting today so they're finding out fresh just along with you guys yep that's that's the

0:33

whole thing here um but before we start we have to mention the table we have a

0:38

table it's good looking table we're all happy about the table it's it's impressive I know you know that but we

0:43

are huge fans of this table now yes ties the whole thing together but anyway sorry had we had to shout out our

0:49

special guest star the table so and if anybody is uh in the chat feel free to chime in at any point with your thoughts

The Pitch: Rock to the Future Unveiled

0:56

on the movie as we go through it because Savage is the only one that knows the idea as a right now he's prepared some

1:01

notes and we're just winging it along with you guys so feel free to jump in the writer's room and help us finish

1:07

this movie I think you guys are going to like this one okay what you what you got for us this is called Rock to the

1:17

Future Okay I I like it already I'm picturing 80s like yes please Contin I

1:23

like it yeah the summary here uh the this is a fish out of water story okay

1:29

of an outcast teenage slacker he's a an aspiring rock musician in 1978 you say

1:36

Fish Out of Water I'm kind of picturing Big Fish small pond well we could go that angle yeah

1:44

okay we'll see so 1978 so all right we got a we got a picture of the athetic

1:50

here okay uh so 1978 he gets shoved into a uh shoved by a bully into a time

1:57

capsule locker and it's transported 30 years to the Future to the year 2008

2:02

that's how those work back back up real quick so the Time Capsule Locker so

2:08

that's where they just keep your stuff I guess normally and then he was it was used for Bully purposes yeah see it's

2:14

just like shoved right in like it's a locker that was created to be a time capsule we'll get into that part Dr vile

2:22

gonna pop out all right way off on that one okay okay fair enough all right what

2:29

what he got so this kid um he gets transported into the year 2008 and he

2:36

must navigate his new life in the 21st century uh Inner City High School okay

2:43

so like are you g to have any kind of like prologue where it was like this is happening and all of a sudden like this

2:48

is the start are you kind of working your way like like like how how are we how are we I get to it here I think you

2:55

guys feel free to to chime in um I've got a lot of notes on this one cuz I

3:00

just got off on a tangent so here fair enough all right uh so scene

1978 – The Setup

3:05

one act you know act one scene one Middle America Springtime 1978 okay doter High School senior class

3:14

had just finished a school assembly regarding their graduation ceremony doter yep okay all right uh it was in

3:22

the final week of school and this was a special year because dotry high school was celebrating their 30th anniversary

3:29

with a time capsule okay this time capsule was the last Locker at the end of the row in the

3:35

school entryway and the bully shoves him in the Time Capsule and the school buries it and he lives he didn't time

3:43

travel he was a prisoner yeah was like a cryogenic time capsule do they have that

3:48

back then we'll see what kind of a kind of like a port key or Professor

3:53

vile okay so a little bit of magic is in this yeah Whimsy and Magic

4:00

Stoner comedy wh uh so students and staff are encouraged to put letters and photos and

4:07

items into the locker to commemorate the school and its attendees at the graduation ceremony they would lock and

4:13

seal it shut to be open 30 years later and they didn't hear the screaming the

4:18

whole time it's magic it's a magic because that's part of The Whimsy you can't hear the

4:26

screams so uh our main character Robbie St van he loved rock music it's a good

4:33

name I like that's a good one he wasn't listening to the principal as he was lecturing the students he was drawing

4:39

band logos all over his class notebook long hair huge sideburns of

4:46

course yeah adoration for all the biggest early metal bands the 60s and 70s bands like lad Zeppelin Black

4:53

Sabbath Deep Purple Rush Jimmy Hendrick cream stepphen wolf iron butterfly and

5:00

his absolute favorite band of all time the heaviest band feather

5:07

feather okay what are their greatest hits thought I would like a full list we

5:14

got a couple that's coming up here all right got a couple hits there's a couple of members from flock of seagull broke

5:19

off so they are the heaviest band of their era okay all right so Robbie and

5:26

his best friend Peter aspired to be like the icons that they hear on the albums they would see on the photos and TV

5:34

Robbie dreamed to be being a guitar God and even has the same model of his Idol

5:39

feather guitarist Davey bones Davey bones feather okay so they have their own brand of guitars NOP the the brand

5:47

the type of guitar that he's got it's a 1959 Gibson Les Paul okay that he bought

5:52

at a garage sale for $200 okay cuz I am not a music person I am I am dumb it was

5:58

a uh it was his entire life savings at the time 1978 200 bucks that was

6:03

probably a lot of money back then I didn't even hear it but I'm definitely going to go back now and take a

6:08

consideration uh so I'm I'm guessing I we'll use that as a sound bite I'm assuming and they' probably give this

6:14

away in the trailer is that the garage sale purchased guitar that's where some

6:19

of this Whimsy is going to come from is there some like a that's a very special guitar that's actually um one that a lot

6:26

of like the famous rock bands from the 60s in70s would use and that's like

6:31

considered like the Holy Grail guitar there has to be a source of the magic it's a Mojo that's in the he's asking if

6:37

the guitar channels magic Mojo uh there's something special about this gu

6:43

garage sale purchase okay brings The Whimsy at least it's not a monkey

6:49

paw so uh he's got a 1959 Gibson Les

6:54

Paul uh Robbie and Peter would jam in the basement at Peter's house that's where they were headed next so the

7:01

principal is talking to the class at the school assembly and he says and I want

7:06

no monkey business next week I want expect you PA expect you to be all on

7:12

your best behavior all right class dismissed said the principal so Robbie and Peter walk

7:19

side by side through the hall they're belting out their favorite feather song handful of Love handful of Love yeah

7:25

that that old tune sounds like a jam they're belting out windows

7:30

down so Peter says man how groovy is it going to be to finally see feather live

7:37

oh yeah it's 70s that's right yeah yeah we got to kind of re back in it's going

7:42

to be it's going to be far out to guess yep I can't believe they're playing our

7:47

home state the day after we graduate exactly one week from now we're leaving

7:53

this school in the dust and I finally get to see how Phil Spencer plays that Baseline on Perpetual stew

8:00

oh yeah they didn't have YouTube you had to go see it for yourself you to watch them how they did

8:06

it so like all right they had eight tracks but like what the hell even is an eight track I've never seen one have you

8:11

guys seen one they had there cassettes back then okay V record an looks like a

8:18

like a big like almost like game cartridge okay like an Atari game or something and uh they would go bad too

8:26

all these things get broken at some point it would just eventually and then that's it was it was larger

8:31

than a cassette but smaller than a VHS yeah yeah I've always heard of him but I literally I don't feel like I've ever seen a picture of one which is kind of

8:38

weird well my my dad used to have some AR tracks in his car and they I remember them just going to [ __ ] a lot and then

8:45

CDs come on you go oh this is the future and then they get scratched you go ah this went to [ __ ] just everything does

8:50

that remember like the first generation of CD players like how how they would just skip all the time then they kept

8:55

having more and more like skip protection and then there was MP3s I remember well I remember it got to the point where like you'd be riding the bus

9:01

and it'd be like a challenge if somebody'd have like a 60c skip protection and' be like try and make it skip right you know I know and they just

9:09

they looked very down the bus all right sorry

9:15

just so uh Peter says how cool is it going to be we get to finally see him live He's slapping air base and bobbing

Feather’s Stage Disaster

9:22

his head enthusiastically Robbie imagined what it would be like to be in the crowd in the

9:27

front row with the light shining amps cranking to 11 their Heroes performing

9:32

in front of them all the fans screaming their name Roar the Roar of the audience

9:37

as the band ends a killer live version of their song Hungry dog hungry dog and handful of Love do you do you have any

9:44

like Perpetual stew oh yeah Perpetual do you have any hooks from any of these that you care to sing for us well if you

9:50

come up with some feel free to you do a barber shop Trio yeah it just doesn't work I don't

9:57

like it oh it'll work I'll I'll fill the gaps my harmonization at the show the band gets

10:04

done playing their song Hungry dog guitarist Davey bones takes three steps forward to the front of the stage

10:10

suddenly the floor gives away he falls through the hole with a crash right into the Time Capsule Davey bones is dead the

10:17

show stops abruptly oh my God he's dead the band looks all around at each

10:23

other and they shrug you tell me that the front man of feather who the guitar

10:29

BR through the stage the guitarist guar was too heavy for the stage it's just

10:34

riddled with irony yeah it might have been like a it was just a fault from the

10:39

stage crew or something was like a loose floorboard or something it broke through shitty venue somebody set them up yeah

10:46

let's dig into that a little bit this sounds like a setup I I smell you have any enemies girlfriend yeah what's

10:53

what's the story did he owe anybody money so he falls through the show stops abruptly the band

11:01

kind of looks all around at each other and they shrug [ __ ] it he's dead it's keep playing singer miles Sinclair says

11:07

to the audience in a British accent well The Show Must Go On can

11:12

anyone here play the bloody guitar he decent Robbie raises his hand in the

11:18

front row his jaws drop in disbelief as they pull him up onto the stage they

11:23

strap a guitar around his neck and he plays a big power chord the crowd cheers Robbie a few signature solo licks

11:31

and the band In The Crowd eat it up Robbie Robbie Robie help Davey bones

11:38

yeah he's just dead down there they all cheer and he basks in the glory nobody called the an ambulance or

11:44

anything Rob no they they just start crowd surfing him it's just lifeless corpse somebody started helping up he

11:50

goes oh thank you and then they just start passing him around jostling him Peter says Robbie Robbie Robbie he

11:58

finally snaps out of the Daydream and realizes they're still in the school hallway oh so you never got to do it

12:05

that was yeah he was Daydream he a I know well now he's a loser I don't like

12:11

him anymore yeah time well spent idiot you dummy you did that standing

12:16

up snaps out of the Daydream there's still in the school hallway Peter says gez Louise you are a space cadet today

12:23

it's another good one Robbie says yeah man sorry I must be still stoned from those brownies we ate last night after

12:29

band practice where did you even get that anyway Johnny Hopkins that was some

12:34

Stellar stuff I found an attire man Peter says yeah Johnny is the

12:40

man so cut scene to Johnny's House in the living room Peter's on one side of

12:46

the room Johnny's sitting on the couch on the opposite side there's a coffee table in between them with a scale on it

12:52

Johnny's weighing up the worst looking Brown ditch weed mostly seeds and stems had been horrible back then paper bag on

12:59

a scale on the coffee table okay Johnny says hm looks a little

13:05

light he grabs a spray bottle full of water and squirts it several times into the paper sack dousing the product in

13:11

the bag until it's heavy enough on the scale well that's rude there you this

13:16

qualifies hands a soaking wet sack to Peter who happily accepts it you're the man

13:22

Johnny some moist ass drugs here thank you man so fresh is still wet he sprayed

13:28

it right in in front of us why does he have a bottle specifically for it oh yeah oh Johnny's the

13:36

man so cut scene back to the two in the hallway Robbie says wait man there she

The Bully Beatdown & Time Jump

13:43

is Janice Chambers she's a stone cold Fox Peter says you've been hot for

13:49

Janice as long as I've known you just go over there and ask her out ask her to go steady so can hot for Janice be a song I

13:57

like that I I come love that for one of their one of their songs so please incorporate it sure I can already hear

14:03

it I can Doo I can too so Peter's kind of risen him up because goes come on man what would mil Sinclair do say h for

14:10

Janice that's the singer from feather wowing Janice right now I bet that was that was all Robbie needed

14:18

to hear says yeah man I'm finally gonna do this he's got his guitar case in toe

14:24

Robbie takes a deep breath and begins to walk towards Janice she looks up at him hopefully and happy to see him

14:30

approaching they lock eyes Robbie's talking to himself he says yes you are

14:35

doing this man just act like mil Sinclair just be smooth be cool I really

14:42

hope I'm not saying this out loud right just be confident she's looking right at you this is your chance interrupted

14:50

halfway through the hallway Robbie gets grabbed by a bully Seth Armstrong popular jock much bigger

14:57

than Robbie how how how would you say his arms were in terms of strength I don't know that's just a

15:04

typical bully name right all right fair I'm picturing like very like just

15:10

huge arms like comparative to body Seth the bully says hey slobby

15:16

Robbie how about a fruit punch and he punches him two hard times in the shoulder that hurts yeah there wedgie

15:23

involved at any point here Atomic good guess we listen you're

15:28

talking about wedgie from Armstrong you don't think it's going to be Atomic yeah like is there anything above

15:34

Atomic we're we're going to find out no oof all

15:40

right he punches him two hard times in the shoulder he says you really think a fox like Janice Chambers would ever be

15:46

into a hair farmer like you why don't you cut that mop top Air out the bong

15:51

smoke out of the basement stop being such a feather loving weirdo with your boyfriend Peter Jesus he really went

15:59

there y this is 1970 they're crazy laid into him all right and said

16:05

you damn Peter better have my Spanish report done by Monday morning he's a

16:11

slave see he's an intellectual slave Seth Seth trips and shoves Robbie

16:18

who stumbles forward falling onto his guitar case and breaking his beloved axe

16:24

no the the garage sale score y oh man typical Peter fashion he runs sprinting

16:30

away to hide leaving Robbie defend for himself Seth kicks the guitar case aside

16:36

picks Robbie back up and all his cronies laugh Seth says one last addition of the

16:41

Time Capsule don't worry Robbie they'll open it again in about 30 years so they

16:47

just shut it arbitrarily for this bully and just never open it again J have

16:53

perfect timing stuffs Robbie into the locker and slams it shut just like Robbie screams and pounds

17:00

on the door from the inside Seth high fives his buddy and disco struts towards Janice leaving Robbie trapped in the

17:05

vault damn he's smooth yeah a picture like Conor McGregor except to like the

17:13

begs whoa I got a enough what do you guys think so far like I'm setting it up here is a can you have some kind of like

17:20

psychedelic type thing when he gets shoved into the locker or is he just in there screaming for a

17:25

while before this happen so I think that's how I wrote it for this movie is

17:30

like time absolutely like just stands still for Robbie like he feels like he

17:36

just seconds earlier got shoved into the locker okay so like for him it's like

17:41

Locker closed Locker open yeah he's like banging on it in just a matter of seconds later it feels like it gets

17:46

opened up again yeah but in actuality 30 years pass he gets pulled out by a 2008 bully who just wedgies

17:53

him and like okay so he look another nerd nobody thought to look in the locker the bully sh shoved him

18:00

in no that's what it be is now it's 2008 the locker gets opened by another bully who has another kid ready to shove in

18:07

the locker he goes oh look there's already a nerd in here he just wedges them wedges them

18:12

both and ties the knot that's the new wedgie that's beyond

18:18

atom together two Atomic twin twin Atomic wedgies wasn't there like the the atomic headband wasn't that the next

18:24

step that's Atomic uh the atomic Atomic is over the head okay that's funny cuz this that's true okay okay yep I had him

18:30

wrong all right yeah act two yeah I think that the not

18:36

tie that's a new that's a new wedgie that's a new wedgie yeah like you get like the Vader mask don't give them any more ideas so we've done it check it off

18:42

the list we came up with the new wedgie y finish something yeah 21st century

18:50

wedgie all right new wedgie people so act two a new era fast forward 30 years

18:58

it's the same doll high school but the year is now 2008 school's gone downhill in a very rough inner city school can

19:04

they have sorry can they have renamed it to like who was that singer I think he was on like American Idol like Roger doy

19:11

oh do yeah can they rename the school to that so it's was very close so this guy

19:16

just completely missed jenos y well that's the thing like it's not just like totally different music but like he's

19:22

probably never used a computer before you know like he's skipped over 30 years to yeah he he skipped over like mostly

19:31

cassettes I'm going to stand on that one he like he went went right past DVD

19:37

like blew right past DVD he went from atrax to Mike Jones still

19:44

tipping basic you are right since the first day of the new

2008 – A New Era, A New Wedgie

19:49

school year quite a jump It's do Tre High School's 60th anniversary and they

19:55

finally open the Time Capsule so a small group of the school yearbook students

20:00

hold their first meeting and they open it up to uh see what's in there and the

20:06

teacher is like not paying attention he's not happy to be there so he doesn't

20:12

doesn't notice the nerd skeletons totally disinterested yeah I kind of feel like they could open it he pops out be like

20:19

somebody on the board memb is like dude that's that kid that Seth Armstrong killed like he got off with no evidence

20:26

yeah Seth Armstrong is just a hardened prisoner in in jail right now went to

20:31

prison for murder yeah for aggravated bullying no that's the Whimsy part of it

20:36

no one was that the magical side of bul wh really realize that's The Whimsy they finally

20:44

get it open stumbling forward out of the safe is Robbie St van still pounding and

20:49

yelling as if Seth just shut the door seconds earlier the students all gasp

20:55

they try to explain to the teacher what just occurred but he denies it it's dismiss is Robbie as probably one of the

21:00

magic club kids or something trying to pull a prank so he's just written off nobody's

21:06

ever seen him before proba one of those freakish magic club kids pulling a pulling the wool over all our

21:12

eyes just like you guys are going to be late for your next class now quit screw screwing around and just move

21:18

along so Robbie doesn't know what to do how to think or how to how to act he

21:23

stands out like a sore thumb as he's walking down the hallway he's got his long flowing hair he's got bold

21:29

sideburns he's wearing his favorite feather t-shirt can only imagine the things being shouted at him he gets

21:36

stares Whispers and laughs for looking so out of place I mean no one in his age now even cares or listens to that type

21:43

of music anymore he was kind of an oddball back in the day now he's so so

21:48

hold on he's popped out of this locker and he's just trying to blend in they like basically told him just go to class

21:55

they basically told him to go to class and he's like oh all right okay look like he's not like curious about this at

22:02

all but so let's be we're kind of in it's almost like a reverse big

22:08

situation where he's his old friends probably have like jobs and stuff now

22:13

yeah they would be like 48 years old he could go run to like a friend's house and that guy's like has his childhood

22:21

home maybe or like maybe his mom's there and she's old and it's like you know is Billy here and they're like what like

22:29

Bill like he's he lives in you know Ohio now well we can include that uh so the

22:36

school looks mostly the same but the students are wild they're all running and yelling they're playing loud music

22:41

in the hallway spray painting lockers what was going on in 2008 Robbie turns

22:48

the corner the vice principal standing in the hallway with the megaphone step around the blood people one of the

22:54

students had been cut during a fight which was a common occurrence was not shocking to any one but Robbie who was

22:59

terrified to now see what his school had become so this was just another day in class God I would have so many

23:06

questions like he's just he's just going to class and just like okay well I I

23:11

like he went into the locker at like third period or something so he's was like well I got like three more to go before I could figure out what's going

23:18

on here so at lunchtime lunch probably got significantly worse oh God yeah

23:24

right went in there just like this is [ __ ] then again like I mean think about what they were in the 70s like it was a

23:30

lot of really canned and processed [ __ ] more so than now you think I kind of

23:36

feel like they hadn't quite figured it out then I feel like they were I they I

23:42

feel like they were eating real food back then I feel like it was either really good or really bad where I feel

23:48

like we've got way more in the middle now I don't know you know what I mean no no at lunchtime Robbie doesn't have any

23:56

money so he can't buy any food jello salad with like meat in it like they were eating that [ __ ] what like yeah

24:02

they were Z wanders down the hall I need proof but let's move on let's let him tell us about lunch here's some racket

24:08

coming from the vending machine area he looks around the corner sees a modern-day W it's a kid wearing a Baja

24:15

jacket with a tie-dye Grateful Dead t-shirt the wook who's also broke

24:21

squatting down he's using a tape measure to reach up under the glass knocking the snacks off their shelves in the vending

24:26

machine he would have to think the vending machine is so expensive like if you really think about it cuz like

24:32

compared to yeah like compared to he looking be like that's 25 cents right

24:38

like are you kidding me yeah a dollar like my God so the two of them frutopia

24:46

two of them lock eyes the W is shoveling bags of Cheetos into his backpack sup dude the name's chuckle

24:54

bunny he tosses rob a snack siiz bag of funions keep a look out while I go for

24:59

the KingSize Milky Way bars on the top shelf by the way nice retro feather shirt bro vintage tees are

Band Recruitment: The Oddball Montage

25:07

sick Robbie explains a story to chuckle bunny as the two have their Hall splay out like a picnic in front of them

25:14

underneath the school bleachers they share a joint that Robbie pulls out of his den denim jacket right at the

25:20

vending machine and underneath the school bleachers now okay out by the

25:25

field I know we're getting ahead but I feel like they're going to become friends they need to go see feather now

25:30

live and it has to be a huge disappointment like God these guys suck

25:36

yeah think you guys might be on to something here yeah cuz they were like 40 at that time so now they're like 70

25:42

yeah and yeah two of them are dead chuckle bunny says so you're telling me man that you woke up and went

25:50

to school this morning and it was 1978 this afternoon it's 2008 so he

25:57

takes a deep drag on the smoke talk about being held after class and that right it's going to be like 2080 by

26:04

Nightfall man Robbie says yeah and the worst part

26:09

is I had teets tickets to see feather live in concert and I'll never get the chance now chuckle bunny says well hey man

26:18

feather's been split up for the last decade but I heard they have a reunion tour coming up the one last hurrah

26:25

tour Robbie jumped up so fast he banged his head on the bleachers above with a loud bang I kind of like that he's like

26:31

way more interested in the school and like going to this concert than like finding his parents like he's been dead for 30 years

26:39

he's like I feel like he was like a rebel he in that mindset his first thought wouldn't be I got to see my mom and dad he'd probably be like Kevin

26:46

mallister raising his eyebrows when he realized his parents were in Florida you know like I think it'd be more of a good

26:53

thing that they weren't around yeah I was think castanza is like oh it's already been 30 years little K they can

26:59

wait a little longer so he jumps up with the and bangs his head on the bleachers Robbie says

27:05

what feather is going to be playing here so they have a cut scene the odd pair

27:11

are shown struggling to share chuckle Bunny's bicycle as they ride across town to the local guitar Corp so it's two

27:18

guys on one bike he doesn't have pegs or anything it's just um Rob's trying to sit on the handlebars it's like well now

27:24

you made it weird forwards forwards at first they wobble slowly up the hill

27:29

chuckle bunny sweating pedaling furiously then Robbie tries riding backwards on the handlebars facing

27:35

towards chuckle bunny it looks very awkward don't even imagine them wearing using pegs they hit a pothole causing

27:43

the bike to flip Head Over Heels the duo are sent tumbling onto the ground

27:48

finally they pulled the bike into the music store parking lot Robbie is sitting on the seat trying not to get a face full of chuckle Bunny's butt crack

27:55

standing up pedaling winding winded and exhausted how are they on

28:00

this bike he trying having hard time following the physics 2008 can they call

28:07

an Uber like is it around then was there Uber back then I don't know no maybe not but either way there's a better way than

28:13

riding with your face and your buddy's butt cheeks all the way to the music store get some pegs I feel like I would

28:19

take up Sports at that point instead so they finally make it to the music store

28:24

Robbie eagerly bursts through the door and he sees the poster promot oting the feather concert the One Last harat Tour

28:31

from The One and Only The Mighty feather he got a big wet spot down the back of his shorts but upon a closer look it's

28:37

like when Forest Gump wiped his muddy face on that

28:45

shirt so they had to ride across town together they just had the one bicycle so the feather is they took a

28:52

shitty bite there One Last harah Tour there's opening acts that are going to

28:57

be deter by a battle of the bands competition and with a flash Robbie suddenly knew what he must do he has to

29:03

form a band to win the battle to not only finally get to see his favorite band but open for his Heroes would be a

29:09

dream come true yes yeah okay we're not concerned at all about my

29:18

family no he's in it for the music man just don't understand Robbie asked chuckle bunny to help him chuckle bunny

29:24

says yeah man I can help I've got a sick base at home I traded my car for it last summer oh sorry sick Bass the sick bass

29:33

he's a Bass Pro bro won't die I've been meaning to learn how to play bass Robbie says actually I meant help me buy a

29:40

guitar I'm pretty limited on funds he turn his turns his pockets Inside Out

29:45

where's the Gibson he's they got smashed in 1978 so it's just destroyed yep it's

29:52

gone him in the locker he hasn't seen it oh he got shoved in the locker no he got

29:58

shoved in the oh okay sorry I thought you said they broke it before that that would have been janitor pieced it

30:03

together and sold it and that janitor became post

30:10

Malone the janitor played by post Malone first I thought of so Robbie says can

30:17

you help me buy a guitar I'm pretty limited on funds chuckle bunny says well I have been selling I've been saving up

30:24

by selling sunglasses and jello shots at the nearby Festival camp camp ground all summer he holds up a wad of red and blue

30:31

stained dollar bills but I really should use it to move indoors it's going to be winter soon Robbie grabs the cash and

30:38

walks up to the counter I can't believe he understands the conversion rate just this quickly was like that that that

30:44

guitar probably cost him like 30 cents in like 19978 they be like I'm going to need $112,000 today well that's kind of

30:53

where I'm going with this Robie grabs the cash and walks up to the counter he says excuse me I'd like to buy a guitar

30:58

like my old one a 1959 Gibson Les Paul just like Davey Jo Davey bones would

31:04

play $2,000 Robbie yells defeated as the smug

31:10

salesman shows in some completed eBay listings for the same guitar he was holding what seems like just hours

31:16

before he's trying to ask the salesman what they have that's available that's more in his budget but there's loud

31:22

electronic music suddenly coming from a room nearby Robbie had never heard anything like it he pushed the glass

31:28

door open and is hit with a barrage of dubstep Wubs and insane sound effects oh that's got to be just awful in for some

31:36

from 1978 yeah never heard anything like that he's like well then yeah what's the new Cutting Edge uh music equipment he

31:42

goes right this way and he like what the f a video game there's there's an

31:48

arrogant looking kid standing in front of a laptop instead of DJ turntables he's dressed in modern designer clothes

31:55

and has a large iced out bling necklace that says 3 St y it's pronounced thirsty

32:02

G so thirsty says yo yo yo it's your boy cool very cool Perfecto Armstrong AKA

32:10

thirsty he says into the vocoder microphone recording the sound bite digitally onto his

32:17

laptop he hits a sample pad and plays the sound bite back a couple of times and says to the salesman yeah if this is

32:23

the best you have I guess it will have to do box it up and this microphone and these stage

32:30

lights too he tosses an American Express gold card onto the counter easily racking up thousands of dollars a gear

32:36

without breaking a sweat no I'm picturing him like arguing with the The Music Store employee just being like

32:42

yeah he's like just these these uh these base thumps just aren't really wet enough I know just not doing it like

32:48

they're just not really wet enough do you have something with more wet samples

32:53

bro oh I'm trying to make the butteriest beat

32:59

if you don't get my drift y thirsty looks at Robbie says whoa what is there

33:04

a lame cosplay convention in town who who let Ted Nan in here oh

33:11

that's the worst one burn Robbie says oh yeah at least I know how to play an actual instrument not

33:17

just some computer nerd [ __ ] thirsty says I already have a huge following on my Facebook and

33:23

Myspace and after I win this battle the bands I'm going to totally steal the show from these old washed up feather

33:29

hacks he's he's got to throw out like a name drop of like a 2008 he be like dude

33:34

I'm in DJ scribbles top eight on MySpace like you can't [ __ ] with me was mypace

33:40

still around then 2008 yeah probably on the way yeah okay don't fact check me on

33:46

this yeah please that's fine he said just look how bad they look in this photo he

33:52

references the poster it was true the Rockers were past their Prime and did not look as good as Robbie had

33:58

remembered says yeah I guess it's been a couple of years thirsty says yeah a couple of rough

34:04

years Robbie says that's enough defending their looks nobody

34:10

attacks feather that's enough feather has more tailent in their hemorrhoids than you would ever do Punk we'll see

34:16

who's going to have win this competition thirsty says whatever loser feathers sucks they're straight dog

34:23

water yo they always have been I didn't think I'd be on the DJ Kid side but I I feel like feather might

34:29

suck come on babe let's go he walks out with an attractive girl

34:36

following along making her carry all the heavy stuff that he just bought having just made a new arch rival

34:42

and discovering a new found disdain for this generation of ingrates Robbie's more motivated than ever to form a band

34:48

so he can shove it right back in all their faces you've made a powerful enemy this day friend he walks back to the clerk he

34:55

slaps money on the counter and says give me a guitar an amp and a cable whatever I can buy with this this is $4 the

35:02

salesman he's annoyed to have to organize and count the sticky wad of mostly a kazoo and a

35:10

ukulele I got a jaw harp somewhere in the back those are pretty sick dud I got

35:16

one of those I like it was some kind of like weird like uh like

35:22

1800s yeah like my mom a musician now my Mom hated it like yeah she just like was

35:29

so frustrated like mom's like that's the last field trip you'll ever go on it disappeared one day like no idea what

35:36

happened to it but I can only assume she bent it in half and threw the trash I'm

35:43

sure so Robbie and chuckle bunny are seen awkwardly sharing the bike ride back to school chuckle bunny is

35:49

struggling to pedal and keep balance while Robbie holds a guitar and amp one in each hand with well he's sitting on

35:55

the seat while his friend is is pedaling standing up they have to stop and readjust several times along the way

36:01

it's very slowo goinging back at school the duo make flyers for a rock band

36:07

audition for later that day they hand them out to classmates and staple them everywhere at the tryouts Robbie's

36:12

playing his newly acquired guitar it's a cheap offbrand version of his old one it's playable but it just doesn't have

36:19

the same Mojo magic that his beloved axe did yeah that's sad yeah yeah it's a

36:24

bummer it's like a rogue less pool guitar senior guitar

36:30

Json West p is a

36:35

gypson chuckle bunny has his bass but he admittedly is just a beginner in his in

36:41

his own words really just in the jam band scene for the drugs several people show up for the

36:47

audition I'm picturing Family Guy when he goes up to play in that band oh my

36:52

God we don't know any songs you don't play music you just been doing drugs this whole

37:00

time like yeah sorry we just never kind of got around to it so next it would be

37:05

a montage of several people show up for the audition they all have different styles but it's like more modern music

37:11

and does not mesh well with Robbie and chuckle bunny um they're into like hip-hop and beatboxing techno emo

37:19

acoustic he's just shredding on a guitar weird spoken poetry they all just think it's

37:24

annoying shut up just like crushing it like just smoke coming from his fingers

37:31

as he's shredding and there's like one guy who likes it and everybody else is just like shut up so who is he living

37:38

with like we've never we've never addressed the logistics of this yeah he hasn't changed his clothes he's not yeah

37:45

like is he just living in the bathroom at the school well this is pretty much all just like in one day so far oh okay

37:51

all right well there's a big he'll worry about that later he's got a big Reckoning coming when it's Nightfall and

37:58

his friends are all like yeah we're going home and to sleep what are you going to do we'll find out I don't know

38:05

I'm hungry and I don't have shelter anywhere I don't have any food and I'm alone yeah everything costs a lot more

38:11

than I remember oh it's a cruel world nowadays so several people show up for

38:18

the audition um there's an interpretive dancer with finger symbols weird spoken

38:24

poetry and one guy with goggles and gloves who just hit a thick metal chain with a hammer oh they're both

38:30

in they're both in he that sounds like a guy who might have a couch to crash on yeah clearly Robbie's just face palm

38:37

he's getting frustrated as auditions wind down he worries that this was all waste of time and none of these people

38:43

would work out they're packing up their stuff to leave defeated when a goth girl

38:48

with blue hair pops her head into the music room she could play a mean triangle yep she said hey I'm Clara I

38:54

hope I'm not too late I had another audition but it will just take me a moment to set up my drums Robbie kind of

39:00

rolls his eyes and waits impatiently for her to get situated chuckle bunny says we just try to keep up with us if you

39:07

can man he says kind of condescendingly she says I'll try she's too good for him already yep

39:15

she's too good she checks her makeup in the mirror before spinning her drumsticks around in her hand they count off the song and instantly she's right

39:22

on Q she Nails a song makes it look easy she's adding drum fills and sick double

39:27

BAS blast beats complex poly rhythms absolutely crushing it she was the best

39:32

metal core drummer in the area by far the last band wouldn't let her join only because she was a girl it's crazy I

39:38

didn't understand most of what you said I just it was cool it was cool assuming

39:44

it was what she has done is impressively cool all right I like it she's earned her

39:50

keep she has a chip on her shoulder and something to prove Robbie's Blown Away

39:55

by Clara he says holy moly you like Johnny John bonam reincarnated what was the the Q girl from 78 name oh Janice

40:04

Chambers Janice Chambers so is he going to run into her daughter or something oh

40:09

maybe is there and who saying John botam reincarnated Robbie okay was John botam

40:14

dead in 78 oh Dam all right well I've just been

40:22

assum he taking me right out of this movie honestly I feel bad that I don't

40:27

that I don't know the response to that answer right on this I don't know it either but he seems more confident than

40:33

you so I'm going to have to assume dang well I'm sorry this I I just

40:39

blew up the whole movie I'm sorry or has he just been in a time capsule he just assumed he was dead for

40:46

the music of the way he lived you seen he's got to be dead by now it's got

40:52

to be dead oh you're just you may be living is what you're saying what's that you may living is what you're saying you

40:58

never even heard the news you just you eyeballed it yeah is what you're saying he he came out of that 30-year Time

41:04

Capsule was like John Bottom's dead clearly got how long has it been oh no

41:11

that must mean r Johnny okay yeah this is this just getting mean he says where

41:16

did you learn how to play like that Clara says well my dad used to play bass back in the day so I grew up listening

41:21

to all the old stuff like Sabbath and Maiden feather we can even practice at my house we have a Jam space set up in

41:28

my basement just why' you go so hard to John Bon I don't understand it yeah I

41:34

don't either Robie says say no more finally feeling good about the progress they'd made then now Trio agrees to meet

41:41

up at the next day for clar's for practice are these are these like are they a feather cover band or is this

41:47

like original no I think they're going to do original stuff but the they'll they'll play some feather Tunes they

41:53

know feather songs too so to be fair I I don't know anything about

41:58

John I I honestly don't I don't I don't know much either I want to look it up but I'm not going to waste my time we're

42:04

not doing that now no no that's fine that's fine maybe we'll somebody wants to let us know in the

42:10

chat is alive or dead please very important we can't get

42:15

anything done until we know this we won't finish it so they all part ways for the

42:21

evening Robbie with nowhere in particular to go wanders towards the County Fairground

42:27

it's got to be a dumpster here as he gets closer he hears a commotion in the distance he sees several people walking

42:34

in that direction they're all wearing makeup and Robbie gets excited he realizes this must be a Kiss concert

42:39

going on tonight I don't like where this is going he uses black Sharpie marker to draw on

42:44

his best Jean Simmons face paint and walks in to join the crowd but what he thinks as a Kiss concert is actually an

42:51

insane clown posy show and he's had a gathering of jug oh boy he's never seen

42:57

anything like this talk about a fish out of water so after a wild night of partying

Juggalo Detour: ICP Chaos

43:05

he doing whippets Robbie passed out of the back of a dirty van is that what jugle do well that's the experience and

43:13

he's covered in fago I'm sure did you ever hear the story of uh

43:18

ICP playing in town here uh I can only imagine well real quick it was an

43:24

upstairs venue and their whole thing is the fago and they spray it everywhere and a Figo truck pulled up essentially

43:30

for the show they spray fago everywhere it was so bad that it was Dripping through the ceiling to the restaurant

43:36

below who complained about it saying like that can't happen whatever was

43:41

going on up there so they were supposed to play two nights in a row and they showed up the second night and the guy goes can't no Figo and they said well

43:50

then we're not playing it's in our contract and they left so they cut it short they wouldn't

43:55

do the show that's experience they're like well that's in our contract for a reason yep yep so after a wild night of

44:03

partying Robbie passes out in the back of a dirty van he wakes up covered in

44:08

fago Sola with a soda with a throbbing headache and a hatchet man stick and poke tattoo on his forearm that looks

44:15

swollen red and infected it is it is very much is as he's walking to

44:22

school from the fairgrounds he passes through a Suburban neighborhood with blocks and blocks of houses from one of

44:28

the houses he hears a faint sound of classical piano getting louder as he approaches he thought it must have been

44:34

a recording at first was an incredible musician sip Robbie knocks on the door a

44:39

sickly pale oddl looking high school kid answers the kid is welld dressed with

44:44

short combed hair parted down the middle and a shiny black eye he's like shuts the

44:52

door Robbie says hey was that you playing piano a minute ago he still got

44:57

the Sharpie marker on his face the boy takes a deep breath he

45:02

says yes he closes his eyes and wines as if he's expecting to get punched in the other eye he just presents just turns

45:09

and presents for a wedgie yeah yes go ahead and pull

45:15

it let's get it over with you're right I was playing loud enough for a stranger to hear you I deserve

45:21

this have Robbie says well my rock band is playing a show in a couple weeks and we

45:27

could totally use some groovy keys are you interested kid says I don't know what

45:32

that means oh no thanks my mom won't let me he starts to quickly close the door

45:39

Robbie says whoa whoa Whoa man slow down what's your story anyway the two talk together on the front porch Robbie

45:45

learns that the kid's name is Edwin that he was homeschooled his whole life and his over protective parents wouldn't let

45:52

him play outside with other kids so he would sit at home and practice piano for hours and hours every day no one can see

45:58

you Edwin no one can see you is he kind of like powder or

46:04

something Robbie explained to Edwin how bullies made fun of him too and look at

46:09

me I'm kickass says Robbie emotions how cool he looks after coming out just a few hours later from a

46:15

locker edwiin was just like I'll be honest with you you're kind of lame bro and just shuts the door in his face and

46:21

like just starts playing piano again who is that hun oh some dumbass I'm going to go write a song about on my

46:29

piano just look at how cool I am they made fun of me too but it's with our music that's how we get back at them we

46:37

shove it in their face melodically metaphorically you shove in their ears

46:44

our Victory comes when it's our band name on the Marquee next to the Legends like feather they realize that they

46:50

peaked in high school feather sucks just shuts the door a lot of ways that this kid could just shut the door in his face

46:57

he says how old are you anyway you're going to probably be 18 soon like me he'll be able to make your own choices

47:03

Edwin says actually I'm 22 and you're right I can't let my dad and mom control

47:08

my life anymore I will join your band he's like oh never mind you're you're a [ __ ] loser he shuts the door on him yeah just

47:16

like this pale he oh this just got creepy yeah this is weird I don't like it n Robbie says far out they high five

47:24

but Edwin's arms are so weak the force Knocks his hand back into his own face bruising his other eye breaks his

47:30

fingers he can't play now at school that afternoon Robbie's

47:35

walking past the auditorium when he observes a familiar site a large bully and a couple of his buddies are picking

47:42

on a drama kid for singing in the School Musical what was he singing to be fair School Musical whatever The What Song

47:52

specific no I'm kidding go ahead so the bully insults the singer with his Lackey they dum chuckle Robbie had seen enough

47:59

he calls out and he confronts the leader says hey man leave the guy alone bully

48:04

says yeah what are you gonna do about it Brady Bunch Robbie STS for

48:10

damn good ones they really cut deep yeah that sucks that hurts Robbie steps

48:16

forward toughly cut scene both Robbie and the drama kid have been shoved into

48:21

adjacent lockers like they're just across from each other or side by

48:27

I think side by side okay just talking to each other kid says great now I can add locked in my locker to my ever

48:33

growing list of hazing let's see I've been nugi backs slapped kick me pink

48:40

bellied Herz donut cup checked Indian burned wet Willi pantsed Atomic wedgied

48:47

Zar Boma wedgied wedgie kned Siamese wedgie nodded I literally wrote it on

48:53

here I said well what wait what makes it an atomic wedgie

48:58

kid says it's a wedgie so bad that the waistband of your underwear gets stretched all the way up over your forehead usually in front of a bunch of

49:04

other kids i' had a wedgie pull tied to the back of a four-wheeler take it take it for a long weekend what would you

49:10

call it if you like put it in like put the strap in their mouth oh that would be like a I think that's bom they call

49:17

that a bowel jowl Jesus nobody get any idea so good says

49:24

anyway thanks for trying to stand up for me this is just a way of life for me at this point it's a human wedg

49:30

aede sometimes I wish I didn't like to sing all it's brought me is torment from these uncultured swine you could hear it

49:37

in my in my soul when I sing the wedgie the Wedgie Song will be similar to SpongeBobs I ripped my pants song I

49:44

don't know that one we a lot of people will I could use my imagination Lots will it's a banger Robbie says geez I

49:51

thought fruit punched was bad the locker could be worse though I'm sure someone will be along soon

49:57

what's your name anyway the kid says Charlie Honeycut Robie says those guys are jerks

50:04

Charlie don't ever let people's opinions stop you from making music and doing what you love well you know while while

50:11

you're waiting why don't you show me what you got give me sing me a song then they're in lockers still right yep the

50:17

Acoustics has got to be horrible that much I do no I like what you're developing here if there's just a beautiful Angelic voice coming from a

50:24

locker I like that Charlie starts quietly at first but Robbie recognizes

50:29

it immediately he's a struck as Charlie executes a beautiful rendition of Queen's Bohemian rap

50:35

city the two loudly belt the entire song note for note the band had just found

The Band Unites: Peter Returns

50:41

their Freddy Mercury Robbie convinces Charlie to join the group for band practice after school

50:46

just in time for the bullies to come back open the lockers and punch him for

50:51

singing two for flinching sing some gu Brooks bro

50:58

so Robbie Charlie Edwin and chuckle bunny are all setting up for first band

51:03

rehearsal at Claire's Jam space the sound of dishes being washed upstairs in the kitchen Robbie says okay gang he

51:10

cranks up the gang on his amplifier and hits his signature riff a loud crash of

51:15

broken dishes comes from upstairs the door bursts open and someone comes barreling

51:20

down he hears a voice that says Robbie Robbie St van is that really you Robbie

51:27

says Peter Clara says Dad we were just about to have band practice but the best

51:32

friends were reunited Robbie and Peter they Embrace in a big hug okay I was trying to remember who Peter was it's

51:37

his bandmate his best friend from 1978 yep all right did he ever see

51:44

feather so to Robbie it's been only yes he did he's part of FEA yeah probably

51:51

still went to that show turns out he hooked up with a member of feather and Yoko own of the whole band

51:57

there's no Peter was single-handedly responsible for their downfall they kind of passed Peter around for a

52:03

bit the best friends reunited to Robie had been only a few days since he was jamming with his buddy but Peter had

52:11

aged 30 years he had a life and he had a family he had 30 years and 12 and didn't think they would ever seen

52:18

his friend again still the same day he started a man the rag tag group

52:26

from all different corners of the school I feel like this is like wet hot American subm it's like if everybody you

52:32

talk to in a day you ask to join your band and they all said

52:37

yes that's good luck that's what are the odds of that women is the word That's The Whimsy it's The Whimsy so much

52:45

Whimsy in there has to be a twinkle involved the rag tag group that's just crazy enough to make this work what are

52:52

you doing scraping gum off a sidewalk do you play triangle come with me you your

52:57

ass I do practice tonight and you sir licking that bench Can you can you play

53:03

the cowbell he has one right on of course I can hey you in traffic you look

53:09

like you know your way around a viola no but my daughter in the

53:15

back Springs up just playing out the window all right sorry I don't see any

53:21

problem with that so the band begins to play their first song it's an easy feather tune

53:28

that they all know hot for Janice they play through it sounds very

53:34

rough the worst of all is chuckle bunny on the base who's dragging the rest of the band Down band members all look at each other

53:41

as they painfully end the jam chuckle bunny sets his base down he kicks up his feet on the couch and lights a joint

53:47

Clara says maybe we should take that one again from the top Taco bunny says why we just played that one

53:53

man I aced it you guys need to to step up Charlie says hey dude why don't you

53:58

go grab us some munchies from the store up the road he hands chuckle bunny 20 bucks by the time chuckle bunny got back

54:05

with their snacks the band was sounding much better with Peter on the bass they were tight on the feather tunes and even

54:11

working on some of Robbie and Peter's originals from back in the day they tell chuckle bunny he's kicked out of the

54:17

band but he can still run their merch table and come to all their shows for free just that quick

54:22

huh friend the whole time well an afternoon I suppose 600 p.m. day one

54:28

right now yeah I just remembered he's known for probably 5 hours already slept in a van from the ICP show he's already

54:35

he's already so he's known him for possibly 29 hours he he's also he's

54:41

joined been kicked out of and then being reallocated as the merch guy for the

54:46

band and he's happy to do so yeah this has all been accomplished these guys

54:52

know how to get some [ __ ] done yeah I I am impressed they are efficient if anything so Robbie's attempting to

54:59

explain the next percussion part to Clara Peter says leave it to me it just goes boot cat boot cat Taco Taco Taco

55:06

Burrito burrito crash Robbie High Peter that's whoa I didn't know you spoke

55:13

drummer The Boys Are Back In Town they high five that's their thing I I remember so

55:21

act three do you guys have any anything else you want to add to this here uh just it just made me think about a a

55:27

meme I saw where it was a video of a drummer's podcast talking making drum sounds and it was like me at the

55:33

mechanic explaining the sounds my car is making it was like boom check boom check

55:39

I don't know it was better something like that taco Tac t t Tac yeah no I mean like it's very

55:46

problematic he hasn't even thought of his family yet but I mean it's just an afternoon I

55:52

suppose yeah this is uh be a light-hearted comedy we don't think

55:58

too deep into the uh any of the well it's kind of thetics the darkest thing

56:03

to overlook is what we're pointing out is that maybe there's a light-hearted approach where his parents knew he was

56:09

in the Time Capsule but it was okay for some reason yeah they just like really wanted to like be empty nesters for

56:16

instance and like this is horrible we'll write that in I guess it would have to be something of like somehow they

56:22

thought it would be better for him to go to 2008 and miss jenos or whatever yeah

56:28

don't waste your money on the Sony mini dis player don't waste your money on the zoom let's just jump you right into the

56:35

eye touch that's the start of it it's like if you see an iPod Shuffle just grab one

56:41

it's fine so finally the big day has arrived at the Battle of the band's

Battle of the Bands Showdown

56:48

competition the group is feeling confident Peter takes Robbie aside he says I've got something to show you he

56:54

pulls out a familiar case no way said Robbie ecstatically looking

56:59

at his beloved Les Paul guitar shining under the stage lights was it destroyed when he uh got shoved into the

57:07

locker the head snack was head stack with SNAP he tells him what it's worth now and he just lunges at him right so

57:13

it's been reforged oh okay the axe has been reforged so Peter says yeah I went

57:19

back for it after Seth and his friends left sat broken in my closet for 30 years I knew I had to have it fixed up

57:25

for our show tonight Robbie hugs Peter far out I kind of like like I want the Lord of the Rings aspect

57:31

of this like yeah they're making it like Aragorn sword and they're like making a big deal out of it right I don't know

57:36

that's what I'm pict was a big guitar we were able to make two guitars from this time well you're going into Game of Thrones there with

57:43

ice that's a whole different story so Peter says yeah I had to go

57:49

back for it after you left um he's got his guitar now that was the the missing

57:54

ingredient so ladies and gentlemen put your hands together for our next Band Time

58:01

Capsule The Band hits the stage they play a nearly Flawless 30 minute set the

58:06

drums the keys the combo his old friend on his bass and trusty guitar in his hands Robbie fell Unstoppable so they're

58:13

a feather cover band right this original Originals maybe a feather cover in there two there they know plenty of feather

58:20

songs but this they are competing for a chance to open for feather band They

58:26

anybody know where my parents are home alone I'm not in a hurry to see

58:33

them but it be nice to know that they were looking did anybody see me on a mil cart

58:38

maybe they would just come by and they would like shove letters into the Time Capsule Locker like hey hope you're

58:43

doing well this is what's going on so they kind of like keep him updated over here hey honey is that Robbie oh my God

58:49

I think it is let's get out of here everybody loves Chappelle Show I think you'd like it too

58:57

uh so feels like they the band played great he knew they put on a great show it was well received especially by many

59:03

of the older crowd members as the band makes their way off the stage the announcer says and now the real reason

59:10

most of you are here the one the only thirsty oh oh this guy the stage curtain

59:18

drops lights and smoke machines Blast Off The Crowd rushes towards the stage packing the dance floor in an instant as

59:25

the Arrogant d J punishes the audience with filthy dubs and Wubs based on ticket sales and popular

59:32

vote thirsty is the clear winner of the battle the bands yeah yeah of course he was it's

59:39

2008 about yeah it's 2008 what what other there all come could there have been so Robbie hears a voice says hey

59:47

great set you guys were incredible a woman approaches Robbie as he's wiping the fingerprints off his guitar he

59:53

recognizes her instantly no j Janice Chambers he's so hot for Janice

1:00:00

Janice she's 30 years older now she's still just as hot as he remembered such a rocking

1:00:06

babe oh my God what are you doing here she says my son is competing tonight she

1:00:11

references to Thirsty so she would be like 45 48 okay 48 yep yep sorry I think

1:00:19

all the like they're graduating so they're like 18 they're about to leave school yep that's right so we're we're

1:00:24

in cougar territory yeah like that's I mean not for Janice fits I can't remember where I I heard that the I

1:00:30

think the the the rule is like a half your age plus seven so I don't think that's as very koser well no I'm not

1:00:37

saying this is one-sided in my imagination here he's hot for oh he's

1:00:43

hot for Janice yeah she's like you are like 18 this is weird it's like yeah

1:00:49

pull it together yeah okay well I think she kind of had a crush on him at at first too but uh it's been long you know

1:00:57

yeah now he's a child yeah I mean well no he's still well I mean he's a

1:01:03

teenager yeah it's very problematic yep so she's there you know supporting her

1:01:09

son but also his band was playing so he got she finally got to see him perform

1:01:15

oh she's a single mom she's Thirsty's mom mhm oh boy oh I missed that part that's huge

1:01:22

well so we let you guys decide [Laughter]

1:01:29

some wuming going on at Thirsty house dub stepping I don't know so

1:01:37

Thirsty's crowned the winner of the competition but he probably sees like

1:01:42

Janice like makes out with her with Robbie or something like that oh boy that's

1:01:48

no no I'm I'm vetoing yeah that's what I'm saying is this is it's not it's not good no I I don't like that at all this

1:01:54

very like blank check Vibes I don't know about that it's not

1:02:00

quite blank check but it's well she turns to the crowd he's

1:02:06

18 that's what I'm saying all right n of that it's not

1:02:13

great so Thirsty's crowned the winner of the competition so they didn't even get to win the Battle of the Bands I think

1:02:18

thirsty lost hard tonight what's happening you you may have won the the Battle of the Bands but

1:02:25

some one [ __ ] your mom think so after the show the promoter

1:02:30

comes up to Robbie approaches him and says offers him the opening gig to open

1:02:35

for feather Robbie says are you serious Robbie and the promoter says yeah

1:02:41

honestly genre wise Time Capsule is a way better fit to fit uh to open for feather yeah plus thirsty said

1:02:48

no we couldn't get him Thirsty's book therapist right now he can't make it

1:02:54

book solid no he's really successful he destroyed his DJ equipment when he found out what his mom did last

1:03:03

night so now I think that's kind of towards the end of my notes Here we have to decide like when time capsule opens

The Ending Debate: Where Does Robbie Go?

1:03:10

up for feather finally does Robie he gets his like moment in the in the Sun

1:03:15

but I think I think if he meets feather like he's got to be disappointed with it

1:03:21

I think he could be disappointed from them from the crowd even where because I I've seen a few bands later where they

1:03:27

got like one original member left and they're super fat and sweaty and just

1:03:34

the whole you're just watching a different show than you signed up for like it's almost a cover band and he's

1:03:40

there just to make you sad and then like so I'm picturing it would be that and then maybe he meets them after and

1:03:47

they're just even more disappointing yeah they're just like rude and washed up still think that they're the [ __ ]

1:03:54

hollow shell from their former glory days so so you said that's like the kind of the end you're picturing right um

1:04:01

well I wasn't sure how like we could try to get Robbie to

1:04:07

go back in time I think maybe he's either stuck here or he goes back into

1:04:13

the Time Capsule to go to another 30 years in the future I feel he just gets bullied back into it well so so that

1:04:20

yeah somebody puts him back in a Time cap he just got comfortable sleeping in a locker so that's like stand up

1:04:28

likees vampire in a c he I know it's kind of lame there's a way to get around

1:04:33

it we like he daydreamed the uh concert at the beginning Davey

1:04:39

Jones falling through the stage y so Davey bones Davey bones he he

1:04:44

potentially the locker opens he gets stuff back in there getting bullied the locker opens again he's back in 78 it's

1:04:51

almost like nothing happened but then there could be the things that some information he learned in 2008 he

1:04:58

takes back to 78 but like it it registers he says the right thing to Janice or they do go to the feather show

1:05:06

and he says something to one of the members where they're like oh wow Dave bones just broke all his bones you could

1:05:13

come on and play for us because you knew that thing or you know what I'm saying what if he falls back out of the locker

1:05:19

like just a second later and he's 30 years older he's like well [ __ ] I just lost 30 years he's

1:05:26

78 so yeah he's 30 years older 78 it only took him a day to get used to the convenience of of an eye touch and all

1:05:33

the other things and I he's like he TR this is [ __ ] all right no I think

1:05:39

you know his band with Peter probably wouldn't have been successful in 1978

1:05:45

because that's what everyone was trying to do but now that it's 2008 and it's

1:05:50

like a Nostalgia thing that not so many bands are performing like that anymore

1:05:56

so like it just worked better it was the right time it was the right place so maybe they start gaining some traction

1:06:03

with time capsule in the year 2008 and kind of like finally get to be his like

1:06:10

the Rockstar lifestyle or or like you know how everybody always you know kids

1:06:15

they don't like their Hometown or they're like I should have grew up in a different decade like there's those kids that are like I should have grew up in

1:06:21

the 60s an old soul what if all of his 2008 band members get bullied and

1:06:26

stuffed into the Time Capsule they all come back in 78 and he's like wow we're actually in 1978 and within a day

1:06:33

they're like I'm bored like this what if he had to do it as a sacrifice he had to

1:06:39

find sacrifices for himself this could take a weird turn it's just Midsummer all of a sudden he has to

1:06:46

sacrifice people to the locker so kind of picture like the 18 in 2008 the Mary Poppins ending where everyone's like

1:06:53

well you know you got to slam and now you got everything that you always wanted your guitar's here your best

1:06:59

friend Peter's here like we we can just live going forward and he's like nope

1:07:06

I'm on to the next thing shove jumps back into the Time Capsule and whether that's means going forward 30 years or

1:07:14

going backwards 30 years he's just like well whatever it takes me I'm going for two janises at the same time invest in

1:07:22

Pokemon cards

1:07:27

um yeah I mean like that's the goal he literalizes the full potential of the

1:07:32

Time Capsule he goes well I know the ultimate goal of got to get that Charizard first to day two Janes I think

1:07:39

a Charizard could get you two janises probably could who's already got his uh

1:07:45

59 Les Paul that would he could sell for pretty penny that's true I uh I like it

1:07:52

I feel like I feel like the the Final Touch is that he has to somehow use he could play it like maybe it was another

1:07:58

daydream in the locker who knows but he's back in 78 and he uses some

1:08:04

information either from the Daydream or maybe he did actually go in the future to either get on stage with feather

1:08:12

before they're a disappointment maybe they're still awesome back in 78 but he's seen the worst of them and now it's

1:08:17

like no you guys are still cool he tells them some things that makes them like this is how you won't suck one day and

1:08:22

then also you trust me now let me on stage with my Gibson That's The Shining

1:08:28

Moment it wouldn't happened without this Daydream time travel situation yeah

1:08:33

that's kind of what I see how was like that's the bow on it I feel like yeah maybe they like go on an extended tour

1:08:39

with feather but it ends up being like they just steal the show from the guys

1:08:45

that are kind of washed up now and it's time it's time capsules time now I kind

1:08:50

of loved that you just fought me the whole time and never brought his family into it it's like just far as I'm

1:08:57

concerned he has no family we even saw the homeschool kid with the helicopter parents's

1:09:02

family we did no families except the except the one kid he went to high school with who's now has the practice

1:09:09

space apparently he's the guy who like yeah come smoke weed at my house to the high schoolers like he's

1:09:16

that Dad so come Jam yeah well we got to cut the Janice story line cuz it's very

1:09:23

problematic it's not good we could also put in an angle where uh what was the girl's name that had it was

1:09:29

her dad and she had the practice space yeah what was her name CLA CLA so she

1:09:35

now has a lot of power over her dad if it comes to like he's like hey you can't practice with the band tonight and be

1:09:40

like well do you know what so and so told me that you guys did in high school

1:09:45

just be like all right all right fine you guys can have practice don't tell your mom you

1:09:50

know yeah Peter he played bass with Robbie back in the day and then when

1:09:58

Robbie disappeared he found his broken guitar and kept it for him all this time

1:10:05

and had a family he raised his kid and grew up with listening to the music that

1:10:10

he loved and she became a really good drummer and just worked out that uh they could join his band in the future what a

1:10:17

Whimsical ending and Peter was never asked did Peter ever do you think he would want to play in the band oh yeah

1:10:23

you think but he he wasn't allowed he was the dad well they kicked out chuckle bunny so Peter was a Oh Peter wasn't I

1:10:29

missed it okay yep which um yeah all right well yeah well I liked it yeah I

1:10:37

liked it in classic fashion we didn't finish it no we got a table yeah we do

1:10:42

it ties the whole thing together I swear we have a nice table now very much inspired by a lot of the different like

1:10:48

band movies like uh rockage stories and stuff like that yeah what is it I kind

1:10:54

of Ed like the reverse of that scene and Back to the Future where like Marty McFly is playing like to the crowd and

1:11:01

they're you know so they're just like yeah we've heard this like like this isn't special instead of I guess you

1:11:06

guys were ready it's like oh I guess you [ __ ] tired of this [ __ ] huh I guess you've heard this a million

1:11:14

times I don't know why do I picture that for no that is pretty funny yeah so someone that's like

1:11:22

basically you know grew up in the 60s and 70s lived through all that and then

1:11:27

had no contact with the outside world until 2008 and now it's just like whole

1:11:34

landed at the Gathering of the jug and started recruiting band members yeah it's probably not a great

1:11:41

thing to walk out into if you're from the 70s or I mean they they did a lot of

1:11:46

camping back then culture Shack sure they the kiss you know they they had the

1:11:51

they had it all right that's fair all right well is he going to yeah oh yeah
